This article presents a Nursingextension project about control ofnosocomial infection in a teaching
university hospital in Brasilia. It has aspurpose the interaction betweeneducation-research-extension and theintegration between university andcommunity. It is a report of an experiencestarting írom the theoretical 655 whichfomented the elaboration of the proposal,íollowed by the description of extensionsactions purposes and its agents, thescenery of practice, the operational stages,the project evaluation system whichindicates its methodological componentsand the proposal's financing. lhe resultsin this initial phase of the project'sdevelopment poínt to the necessity toadvance and innovate the activities ofnursing continuous action on thenosocomial infections vigilance. Thus, thisintegrator and interdisciplinary experiencehad contributed to the formation of futureN ursing professionais, openedcommunication channels for a reciprocalimprovement and narrowed the relationsb etween academic work and health assista nce.
